Hello everybody, welcome to Thursday. The S&P 500 was up .3% today, and even more importantly, it hit an all time high today. And really fantastic. We had a couple of things happen, obviously with earnings, they’re are still very strong. But one of the things that happened today was a technical piece. And so the 50 day moving average, which we talked about several times, is now been crossed over by the 10 day moving average. So the 10 day moving average was below it for the last 21 days, and it just crossed above it. And that’s a signal that a lot of different trading algorithms and people will use. And so we did see a nice jump today, actually. And it really pushed us all the way through the all time high, which I thought was really great.
So, it shows the power of what’s going on with the market: that’s seven days in a row, the market has come up. So all of those bad things that were going on with that debt ceiling in the supply chain and everything, the market only dropped 5.9% from its highest point to its lowest point, September / October. And now we’ve had seven days in a row and we’re back to an all time high. You know, it’s just amazing.
So very, very powerful that’s going on right now we have to keep remembering that even though there’s a lot of things that are still out there. I mean right now, the Fed is still talking about raising rates and cutting back on bond purchases. We’re still dealing with supply chain issues and what have you, yet the market is just in an all time high. So the market is expecting some things to happen in the future that won’t be as bad as everybody might be thinking. They could be, is what the market saying now. We’ll see what goes on in the future.
But really good market so far. I am going to be doing a summary of this week. I think it’s been a very interesting week all together, at my show; at the beginning of my show Talk Money with Tom show at 12:15pm to 1:00pm tomorrow. So if you want to join me then that would be great. And look forward to talking about this again tomorrow. Thank you very much.
