Hello, everybody, welcome to Thursday. The S&P 500 was down 1% today. And so it was just kind of churning sideways really is what’s been happening for the most part. You know, we had this big day on Monday with all these things going on. But we did see a continuation of overperformance for the type of assets that we have right now. Almost all of our targeted indexes and bond pieces, and what have you all did better than the S&P 500.
Today, and again, I think we’re seeing this rotation that’s happening because of the vaccine back off. It lasted for two days, this time. Again, we’ll wait and see what happens coming forward here has been a lot of time doing research to see what did move really well, on Monday and Tuesday. And in preparation, I always use these extreme periods of movement, especially down markets to try to go in and find out, you know, what the market was thinking about at that point in time. And that the areas that I see that makes some sense, are really this kind of value stock area.
So low priced stocks, versus their earnings are what’s called a value stock. And so right now, you know, most of the companies that are struggling, are kind of in that category as a whole. And there was a big move there. The momentum and growth type stocks that we’ve been invested in have been dominating value for a really long time now. And it does possibly mean that we’ll see a resurgence in value, especially as this vaccine news continues to come out. There’s some news coming out shortly from Moderna, we might see some of the same action where we see those value stocks start start to take off again. So we’ll have to watch for that.
And that’s kind of the big piece that I’m focused on the most right now. Very happy with the holdings we have. We outperform the market yesterday, today, all last week, you know, really good things kind of had a bad Monday, Tuesday. But we kept on just looking and watching and kind of figure out what’s going to happen here. And you know where we should be. I always like to spell out all the possible paths, and then have possible portfolios and portfolio changes in mind. And so that’s what I’m working on right now for this information that we just got from Monday and Tuesday. So but overall things are doing well and I think we’re okay, and let’s just keep going and see what happens tomorrow. Well thank you very much.
